Y.M.C.A.
Another contingent of members of the Wellington Y.M.C.A. arrived in. Masterton on Saturday morning. Duping the morning two teams from t&e visitors, played an exhibition game of Association football in Fraser's Paddock. The game was watched with interest by a fairly large number of people. Yesterday morning a Kugby football 1 match was to have been played between teams representing the Masterton, and Wellington Associations, but; owing to the former Association not being able to get a team together,, the match had to be abandoned. Instead, a scratch game of Association football was played.. In the afternoon the visitors were taken for a drive around the district.. At four o'clock they were entertained at tea in the Y.M.C.A. Robms. There were forty fnembers present. Mr A? 4 J. Parton occupied the chair, and in formally welcoming the visitors to Masterton he hoped their stay had been an enjoyable one,, and that the present visit would lead to many future interchanges of visits. Mr C. Jones, acting-secretary of the Wellington Y.M.C.A, gave a brief address, djring the course of whiclv he urged the members to take more interest in the work of the Association and to endeavour to increase its membership. During the course of the tea, the toasts of the Wellington andiMasterton. Associations were honoured. A musical programme was kindly provided •by members of the Elton Comedy Company. The visitors left for home by the 6.30 p.m. train.
