REVOLT IN ROUMANIA.
SERIOUS FIGHTING.
Received' March 27, 7.30 sum. .BUCHAREST, March 26. Two hundred peasants at Bacesi, near Vasluiu, attacked a company of soldiers, who fired, killing forty. A force of four thousand peasants from Vasluiu and neighbouring districts is marching on Bucharest, the capital, where a state of siege has been declared. The troops have been ordered to use shrapnel if the peasants do not disperse. There is much rioting and looting in other towns. Fifteen rioters were shot dead at Alexandria. A mob entered Galatz, where the troops fired a volley, killing fifteen and wounding many.
THE PREMIER RESIGNS.
Received March 27, 1.4 a.m. BUCHAREST, March 26. M. George Cantacuzene, Premier of Roumania, has resigned. M. Sturdza has formed a Liberal Cabinet in the hope of quieting the country.
