—; — <m By Telegraph —Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, March 25. Mr F. de C. Malet has resigned the position of Chairman of Directors of the Bank of New Zealand as from the 31st March instant, the close of the financial year of the Bank, but he will continue to act as a director. It is understood that the state of Mr Malet's health, and the fact that he intends to leave the colony on a visit to Europe towards the end of the present year have led him to take this step. Mr Malet has occupied the office of chairman for over five years, and that of director for over eight years.
