THE WRECK OF THE SUEVIC.
Received March 21, 8.25 a.m. LONDON, March 20. Captain Jones, of the Suevic, reports that the tide flows freely in the forepeak and in Jholds §Nos 1. 2, and 3, but that the stokehold and engineroom are dry. Salvage operations have not been commenced owing to the rough seas. There is little hope of floating the Suevic off, although it is stated the vessel has sustained no further damage, despite the rough seas that have been running, with strong winds. Received March 21, 9.55 p.m. LONDON, March 21. All the baggage belonging to the passengers on the Suevic has been salved. A start has been made to salve the cargo. Two Salvationists nrmed Williams and Hoare, who landed in the third men's boat, assisted the women and children until their safety was assured. The Rev. A. R. Edgar was amongst the last rescued.
