FOOTBALL NOTES.

(By All Black). The New Zealand f team will leave on their trip to Australia early in July. They will meet New South Wales and Queensland twice and Australia thrice, twice in Sydney and ■once in Brisbane. The tour will last -about six weeks. The Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union has offered £IOO to--wards the expenses of a team to play •a"team from the Stanford University, United States, in a series of matches. The annual general meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union will be held in Wellington on Thursday, May 2nd. Previous to the meeting a conference of delegates will be held, at which matter of importance relating to the management and control of the game in the various centres will be discussed and dealt with. A proposal will also be brought forward •for the arrangement of dates for the various representative games to be played during the incoming season. There is the possibility of a Great , Public Schools' team from New South ' Wales visiting New Zealand during -the coming season. The South African Rugby Board lias decided to make a donation of £I,OOO to found a "Springbok Bed" In a London .hospital to be designated by King Edward. Is the New Zealand Union doing anything to commemorate the "All Black" tour from its large balance? The members of the Welsh team beaten by Africa, according to the Sporting Life (London), claim 123 international caps between them. These are made up as follows:—Nicholls 23, Owen 17, Harding 16, Gabe 16, Joesph 15, Morgan 14, D. Jones 12, and G. Travers 10. It is stated that Gladstone intend entering a senior team for the Wairarapa Rugby Union championship this season. The annual meeting of members of the Albion Club will be held in the Empire Hotel, this evening, at .8 o'clock. There is a prospect of a visit from a South African team to New Zealand. The following are the dates decided uponiby the council of the New South Wales Rugby Union for big fixtures, but they will nave to be agreed to by -Queensland and New Zealand:— V Country week, June 1, 3 and 5; ■ Queensland v. New South Wales, in Sydney, June 8, 12 and 15; New South Wales v. Queensland, in Brisbane, June 29, July 3 and 5; New Zealand v. New South Wales, in Sydney, July 13 and 20; New Zealand v. Australa, in Sydney, July 27; New Zealand v. Australia, in Sydney, Augus 24. It is suggested that on August 3, 10 and 17 the New Zealand team should play in Brisbane.

A Church Rugby Union has been farmed in Sydney. There were nine ' clubs represented, and, judging by the enthusiasm shown, the union has baen set on a sound footing. It was announced a few days ago that the New Zealand Rugby Union had offered a substantial guarantee to a Californian team to visit this ,C3lony, and papers received by the San Francisco mail show that the students of Leland Stanford University are anxious, if possible, to pay a visit to New Zealand. According to the San Francisco Bulletin, Dr. Jordan, president of the university, expressed himself as highly in favour

of the proposed trip. He saw no difficuly in the way of expense or time. Dr. Frank Angell, chairman of the faculty athletic committee, had this to say: "We must feel flattered indeed at the receipt of such a proposition,, but we must not lose .sight of the fact that this is but our first season in t the English sport. It would certainly be a grand trip for the boys, and from my observations of the games in the North I have no doubt they would make a showing which would reflect credit on their college and their coach." The annual general meeting of the Masterton Football Cub will be held . in the Y.M.CiA. rooms at 8 o'clock on Wednesday next, March 27th.
