WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report as follows regarding Friday's sale: —We held our usual fortnightly sale to-day, offering 117 bales wool, 2,600 skins, 400 hides and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. Wool: There was a large entry for this season of the year, and several of the English operators were present, making a full muster of buyers, who all operated with great confidence. 1 Considering the 'condition prices were in advance of the February sale by id per lb. We quote:—Half bred 10£ d to lid, coarse crossbred 9?>d to 10|d, merino 9d to lOd, rough and inferior 8d to 9£d, pieces and bellies €rl to 7|d, locks 3Ad to sd. Skins: Market was strong. No quotable alteration. We quote:—Merinos 7Jd t j B£d, fine crossbreds 9d to 10£ d, coarse crossbreds BJd to lOd, dead sluns 7d to 8&d, dead hoggets 6|d to Bd, dry pelts 7d to 7£d, lambskins 8d to 9sd, green lambskins 4s to 4s 9d, green pelts 4s to 4s lid, lamb pelts Is 6d to 2s 4d. Tallow: Very active demand. Parcels in shipping order £2B, tins £l7 to £22, rough fat £ls. Horsehair: Is to Is 3d per lb. Horns: 13s to 16s- 3d per 100. Hides: Prices were very firm. We quote: Oxhides (extra heavy), €Jd to 7d, ox hides (70lbs and over) 6|d to 6£d, ox hides; (SOlbs to 701bs) €id to 6|d, cow hides sgd to 6Jd, calf skins (best) 6d to 7Jd, calf skins (slippy) 3d to 4rl, calf skins (cut) 5d to EJd, cut and slippy hides 5d to 6d, stag hides 4d to sd, bull hides 3£d to 41d. The next sale will be held on Thursday, March 28th, 1907. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows:—Prices were somewhat irregular for wool. Good lines realized more than January sale rates, but for shabby and seedy lots prices were somewhat easier. We quote as follows:—Bright crossbred 10d to 10|d, medium 9£d to 9fd, inferior 7Jd to 9d, lambs (good) 9£d to) 10£ d, medium BJd to 9.id, seedy •and inferior 6id to 7Jd, halfbred 10£ d to 10£d,merino8|d,pieces 6gd to 7|d, locks 4Jd to sd. Sheepskins: Market firm at late rates. We quote : Halfbred lOd, crossbred (woolly) 9d to 9|d, shorts 8d to B|d, inferior and broken 6£d to 7|d, lambs (medium) SJd, inferior s£d, pelts (dry) 7£d to Sd, crossbred green pelts 3s 8d to 4s -4d, stragglers 6Jd. Hides: Good -demand at last sale prices. We quote:—Ox (no heavy offering), medium (54lbs to 701bs) 6|d to 7d, 491bs 6gd, cow, medium (391 os to 461 bs) 6d to 6§d, dry 4|d to 7|d, calf s|d to Gfd. Shank and clod bones, 2s 6d per cwt. Tallow: In tins 19s 9d to 21s 9d, rough fat 16s 6d. The New Zealand Loan and Mer-«-intile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows:—Odr range of prices was : Crossbred fleece (good medium) 9d to IOJd, crossbred fleece, (seedy and inferior) 7£d to BJd, clean lambs 9d to 101 d, seedy and inferior lambs 6£d < to B|d, pieces 4Jd to 6fd, locks 3d I to sd. Sheepskins: coarse crossbred I <3hort wools) 8d to B£d, coarse cross- [ bred (full wools) 9Jd, halfbred 9d to j lid, crossbred (bare pelts) 7*d to | 7id, lambskins 9d to lOd, dead skins 6 jd to S£d, damaged and broken 3d to 6|d, green skins from 3s t)d to 4s Bd, ' .lambskins from 3s 3d to 4s 2d each. Hides: Only inferior lot forward. Medium ox and cow 6d to 6|d, damaged hides from 5d to 5Jd, calf (sound) 7d "to 7id, calf (damaged) 3?>d to 5Jd. Horsehair: Is 6d to Is 8d per lb. Tallow: Good mixed in shipping condition 27s 6d to 28s 3d for cask lots, in tins 18s to 20s 6d, rough fat to 17s 3d per cwt. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows:—We offered a catalogue comprising 32 bales of wool, 1,200 sheep skins, and 150 hides. Bidding was brisk and competition from a large attendance of buyers resulted in a very successful sale, prices being very satisfactory. We quote:—Wool: Rough medium crossbred B|d to 9£d, medium to good lambs 9Jd to 9|d, seedy and •dingy BJd to 9Jd, locks 4d to 4|d, pieces 4gd to 7d. Skins: Lambs, 9£dto 9£d, dead Sd, lamb pelts 8d to BJd, pelts 4s 4d to 4s sd, lambs pelts 2s 4d to 2s 6d. Hides: Ox (551bs) 6|d, ox (67lbs) 6|d, cows (491bs) 6£d, ox and cows (dam aged) 6d to 6Jd.
