MASTERTON RACING CLUB.

MEETING OF STEWARDS.

A special meeting of the Stewards of the Masterton Racing Club was | held on Saturday. There were present—Messrs C. F. Vallance ( chairman), R. Buick, A. Reside, D. Caselberg, W. Cooper, J. lorns, C. H. Smith, A. J. Welch, D. McLachlan, and W. Piatt. Nine new members were elected. It was resolved to open a totalisator account with the Bank, and the President and Secretary were authorised to operate on it. The Stewards resolved to take no responsibility with regard to the delivery of telegrams to and from the course. In the event of wet weather on the morning of the races, it was resolved to meet at 9.30 o'clock to take any steps that might be necessary with regard to postponing the meeting. The following officers were appointed for the. coming meeting:— Stewards to watch the running, Messrs Palmer, McLachlan and J. lorns; horses out, Messrs Caselberg, Cress and A. J. Welch; horses in, Messrs McLachlan, Reside, and Smith; totalisator steward, Mr W. Piatt; outside gate, Messrs Reside and Caselberg; paddock stewards, Messrs Pownall and W. lorns; assistant clerk of scales, Mr W. Cooper; lunch and refreshment stewards, Messrs R. Buick and J. lorns.
