While the police at Kharkov (town and government of Russia on the southern slopes of the Middle Russian plateau) were searching students' lodgings, a bomb killed an officer of gendarmerie, three policemen, and two others, and wounded six.

During the unsuccessful to assassinate General Neplionieff, Commandant of the Sebastopol fortress, who was injured in the feet with a bomb, 42 persons were killed and 107 were injured. The inhabitants have therefore petitioned for his recall, on the ground that he is a public danger.
