COLOMBO ROAD.

PROPOSED EXTENSION. . The Masterton Borough Council wrote to the Finance Committee of the Masterton County Council, yesterday, stating that it was proposed to extend Colombo Road to connect with Cockburn Street extension. As part of the distance was in County territory, the Council was asked to undertake their share of the work. The Borough Council had arranged with the owner for the purchase of the Borough land, and the Borough Council would contribute, ■ say, one half of the whole cost of land and road in the County. The matter was left in the hands of the representative of the Te . Whiti Riding, Cr Morris, and'the Engineer to report upon at the next meeting.
