LONDON MARKETS.
By Telegraph—Press Association. March 11. The Department of Industries and Commerce has received the following cable from the High Commissioner, dated London, March 9th. The butter market is somewhat steadier, although large supplies are coming forward,. Three hundred and twenty thousand boxes of colonial butter are expected to arrive by the end of the month. Last month 323,518 boxes were received, against 279,232 for the corresponding period last year. Choice New Zealand brands are quoted at 995, Australian 975, Argentine 995,= and Danish Ills per cwt. The cheese market is quiet, and prices are slightly weaker. New Zealand cheese is-quoted at 6£s per cwt. The hemp market is quiet, and rather unsettled, 'although moderate business is doing. Good, fair grade on spot is quoted at £3B, and April-June shipments at £37 10s; fair current Manilla, on spot, is quoted at £4O per ton. The cocksfoot seed market is firm, and buyers have been offering more freely. Bright, clean seed, 171bs per bushel, is quoted at 50s per cwt. The wool market is strong, all stocks are advancing.
