The Autumn Meeting was brought to a close to-day. Results:— Elms Handicap.—Barren Jack 1, , lolaire 2, True Scot 3. Select Stakes. —Mazarin 1, Miss Malster 2, Orfano 3. Place Handicap.— tflue Spec 1, Kaffirpan 2, Rhubarb 3. Autumn Steeplechase.—Abdallah 1, Napier 2, The General 3. Also started—Up-to-date, Poster, Player, ' Signet. Up-to-date and Player led over the first fence. Poster fell at the first jump, and Up-to-date fell at the abattoir. Player led over;the last jump from Napier and Abdallah, but the latter eventually won by two and a ha'if lengths. Time, 6min 41sec.

CHAMPION STAKES. Dividend, 9st 51b ... 1 Poseidon, 7st 121b ... 2 Froceedor, 9st 21b ... 3 Booran was the only other starter. Betting: Bto lon Poseidon, 15 to 1 Dividend and Proceedor, 20 Ito 1 Booran. Coming into the \ straight the first time, Poseidon led by a length and a half from Proceedor. Dividend was next, two lengths away. The same order was maintained until the turn for home, when Dividend, coming fast on the outside, established a lead. The downfall of the favourite was established, for the colt could not catch the black horse, which won by three and a half lengths. Proceeder was ten lengths away third. Time, smin 29sec. There was great excitement when it was realised that it was the favourite's first downfall, and the crowd cheered as the winner was led in. Farewell Handicap.—Curtain Lecture 1, Ebullition 2, Sweetness 3.
