PALMERSTON NORTH SUPREME COURT.

PALMERSTON N. March 8. At the Supreme Court, W. Gugild Noble claimed £5Ol damages from the Akitio Sawmilling Company for the death of his son. Plaintiff's son was engaged on an oil launch for the defendant company, and when engaged on a short voyage the launch was wrecked and the crew (two men) were drowned. The case occupied two days. It was alleged by the plaintiff that the vessel was unseaworthy and short manned. The jury sat for 5 J hours, and considered £SO damages should be awarded. A decree nisi was granted in the case of Henry Bailey v. Ethel May Bailey, to be made absolute in three months. An order was made for costs against the co-respondent, H erbert Tonks.
