Splendid weather prevailed again to-day for the Dannevirke races, when there was another large attendance. The sum of £9,060 was put through the totalisator as against £8,858 on the second day last year, making the total for the meeting £18,980, as against £16,971 for the two days last year. THE WajnuainJl MEETING.

The autumn meeting of the Wanganui Jockey Club will open to-day. The course is reported to be in ex-, ceptionally good oi'der, and some very fine finishes should be witnessed. Wairarapa will be represented at the fixture by Rifle Maid, Sandix, Sen Sim, and Full Rate. As the result of the final gallops, Marguerite, Paritutu, and King Billy are most in favour for the Cup, while Isolt, Golden Gate and Achilles are fancied for the Flying Handicap.. The following are suggested as likely to run prominently in their enagements: — Stewards' Handicap. Glenullih and The Lark. Juvenile Handicap. —Gold Crest and Moscow.
