MUNICIPAL FIRE BRIGADE.
The monthly meeting of the Masterton Municipal Fire Brigade was held last evening, Captain Jenkins in the chair. Leave of absence was granted to Lieutenant Matthews. The secretary reported that the average attendance at musters for the month of February had been 19J. The secretary of the Carterton Fire Brigade wrote regarding their team visiting Masterton for practice. The New Zealand Railways Department forwarded railway passes to Christchurch. The Masterton Band wrote "offering to play a programme of music in aid -of the funds for sending the Brigade's team to Christchurch. The secretary of the U.F.B.A. forwarded the order sheet for consideration at the Conference. Hearty votes of thanks were accorded to the Masterton Trust Lands Trust. J. Staples and Co. and the Postal Department for donations to the Brigade's funds. Ex-Fireman H. Ewington was •elected a life member. The secretary was instructed to write to the Levin Fire Brigade for particulars concerning the length of Firemen Check's service.
