GLADSTONE.
(From! Our Own Correspondent).. Monday. Dipping operations are almost • completed here now. Metalling contracts are now in full swhg, and work is being pushed on rapidly in order that all contracts •may be completed before the winter. The annual picnic in connection ■with the Presbyterian Sunday School is to be held on the grounds of Mr H. TS. Mason on Saturday next, the 9th inst., The recent showers of rain have had a wonderful effect upon the grass. Two weeks ago the grass on the hills had a very dried appearance. Since the rain the grass has sprung up again, and the hills "present quite a green appearance. Should the mild weather continue there is every prospect of a good supply of feed for the winter months.
