PALMERSTON NORTH SUPREME COURT.

PALMERSTON N., March 4,

At the Supreme Court, Alfred Russell, charged with using obscene language on September 6th, was acquitted. Michael Alexander, 70 years of age, was charged with indecent assault upon his twelve-year-old daughter. The accused was found guilty, and is to be sentenced tomorrow at 10 o'clock. Mary Jane Parkes petitioned for a divorce on the grounds of misconduct of her husband, William Parkes. The petitioner left for the Old Country, and in her absence respondent brought a strange woman to the house. The misconduct was detected by a daughter, named Maude Parkes. A decree nisi was granted, petitioner to have the custody of an adopted child. True bills were returned against John Monghan and Susan Cole, attempted abortion, and Jane Martin, arson.
