METHODIST CONFERENCE.
By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHU RCH, Last Night. The annual Methodist Conference opened to-night, and the President (Rt-v. T. G. Brooke, of New Plymouth) delivered a retiring address, after which the Rev. W. Slade was elected President for the coming year, and Rev. C. H. Laws Secretary. The first reading of the stations for 1907 was submitted as follows: Wellington District Wellington (Taranaki Street), P. W. Fairclough and C. Porter; Young Men's Movement, H. L. Blamires; Wellington South", W. J. Williams; Johnsonville, E. P. Blamires; Hutt, S. J. Garlick (supply, J. Richards), R. Wilson; South Wairarapa, J. W. Griffith; Carterton, W. J. Elliott; Masterton, J. N. Buttle; Napier, A. C. Lawi'y; Hastings, L. Hudson; Gisborne, C. Griffin; Eketahuna, G. T; Marshall; Dannevirke, T. T. Thomas, 8.A.; Levin and Otaki, J. Wrigley and P. R. Paris; Waipawa, G. Frost; Woodville, B. H. Ginger; Pahiatua, T. F. Jones; Norsewood, a home missionary.
After transacting routine business the Conference adjourned till to-mor-row.
