PAHIATUA AND MASTERTON STOCK SALE REPORTS: The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows:—At the.Pahiatua stock sale •on Tuesday last we had a good average yarding in sheep, all classes being represented. Sheep on the whole were well competed for, only one pen of wethers in the catalogue failing to sell. Some 40 rams were submitted, all selling. In cattle our entries were limited, and those sold showed no improvement on recent sale rates. At Masterton Jyesterday we had a big yarding of all classes, the yards being taxed to "their utmost capacity. Contrary to expectations we had spirited bidding all ' throughout, and at the close of the day we turned out only one solitary pen of ewes unsold. A number of rams bffered,2and We succeeded in selling by auction and private treaty upwards [of 50. Cattle were not much in evidence and those offered were practically neglected. At .Pahiatua—Best young ewes reached 15s Bd, f.m. ewes 9s to 12s, aged and culls 8s 6d to 7s 6d, lambs 9s 4d, medium and poor 8s to 6s, young rams' to 3Jgns, others £2 2s and £i Is, wethers up to 14s 3d. At Masterton—Best ewes up to 15s 6d, medium lis 6d to 12s 7d, others had a range from 9s to lis, poor sorts 5s to Bs, forward rape lambs 10s to 10s id, good woolly sorts 10s Id, medium 8s 6d, culls 5s to 7s, 2-tooth wethers 13s lOd, fat ewes 14s, forward ewes 13s, sound | rams but aged lgn to l£gn, boilers 7s 6d to 10s. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., held .their fortnighty sale at the Waipoua yards, on Wednesday, when upwards of 4,000 sheep came forward. The entry was mainly comprised of good class ewes, though in most cases backward in condition, but the absence of culls was much in evidence.
