TARANAKI RACES. By Telegraph—Press Association. I NEW PLYMOUTH, Last N.ght. The Taranaki Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting commenced to-day in fine weather. The amount put through the totalisator was £5,825 10s, as against £3,263 10s for the corresponding day last year. The double machine paid a dividend of £57 18s on the St. Maria—Glenullin combination (Pukaka Hack Handicap | and Cup). Results: — Kawaroa Hack Hurdles, 1J mile. — Fretwork 1, Pawa 2, Moosker 3. Also started —Southern Cross, Bagatelle. The two latter fell. Won by five lengths. Time, 2min 51 2-ssec. Dividend, £8 16s. Stewards' Handicap, 7 furlongs.— Kuku 1, Rustique and Silver Shell (dead heat) 2. Also started—Le Beau and Pearl Necklet. Kuku led throughout, winning comfortably. Time, lmin 30sec. Dividend, £1 18s. Pukaka Hack Handicap, 5 furlongs.—St. Maria 1, Engraver 2, Golden Eagle 3. Also started— Pearlie, The Clipper, Moscow, Catapult, Believue and Lantern. From an even start St. Maria shot out, winning by two lengths and a-half. Time, lmin 35 sec. Dividends, £4 8s and £l. TARANAKI CUP, U mile. Gl,i:ullin, 7.2 1 Trace, 7.7 2 Clareiwmt, 7.4 3 Also started—Seotty; Paritutu and Grenade. From a splendid start Glenullin assumed the leai, which he increased, winning by five lengths. Flying Handicap.—Cyrene 1, St. Claimsr 2, Rustique 3. Also started —Kitchenmaid, Regulation, White Star and Pylades. A good race. Won by a length. Rustique half a length away. Time, lmin 16 l-ssec. Dividends, £3 14s and 12s. Trial Plate, 6 furlongs.—lntegrity 1, Miss Vera 2, Tambour Major 3. Also started—Lingerer 1, Ramnui, j Glengariff, Uplando, Lady Lancelot, I Sweet Sylvia, Daisy, and Paul Ney. A good race between the placed horses ended in half a length victory. Time, lmin 16£ sec.
