PONGAROA.
«k (From Our Own Correspondent.) A new mail service has been established between Pongaroa and Horoeka twice weekly via Waioni. The telephone line is now finished to Horoeka A now telephone office has been opened at Mr Wilcox's Waimiro " store, and it is expceted that a Post Office will be opened here in the near future. A construction party, in '. charge of Lineman Jackson, are.now busy erecting the line between Pongaroa and Waione. The timber for the Waihi suspension bridge is now on the site, and the timber for the suspension bridge at Lunt's is to be delivered by the middle of May. Our popular and courteous postmistress, Miss Sinclair, is away on her annual holiday. Mr.Bauckham, of the Pahiatua office, is in charge during her absence. The Rev. Mr Wool lass, of the Presbyterian Church, Pahiatua, preached here on Sunday last. Mr R. Tauscherhas disposed of his property to Mr J. Davidson. Mrs W. A. Burling, who has been seriously ill, is, I am pleased to state, recovering. Mr A. Wilcox is building a Town Hall at Waimiro, Messrs Ibbertson and Hunt bieng the contractors.
