GLADSTONE.

(From Our Own Correspondent). Monday. Extensive alterations are being made to Mr J. Strang's residence, at Glenside. The additions consist of enlarging three bedrooms, leading from the side verandah and also extending to the kitchen outwards. Messrs F. King and Sons, of Masterton, are the contractors for the work. Large numbers of fat sheep are being held here, a settlement of the butchers' strike at the Meat Company's works at Petone and Ngahauranga. A large number of fat sheep and lambs are leaving here to-day to • compete at the Masterton Show. Mr J. Strang is sending over 100 sheep, and a larce number of entries are being forwarded from Tupurupuru.
