NEW ZEALAND v. M.C.C. By Telegraph- Press Association. CHRiSTCHURCH, February 18. The first test match, M.C.C. v. New Zealand will be played on Thursday, February 28th, on Lancaster Park, Christchurch. The names of the New Zealand team are as follow: —Haddon and Sale (Auckland), Mahony, Upham and Tucker (Wellington), Lawrence, Reese", Callaway and Boxshall (Canterbury), Seideberg and Downes (Otago).

M.C.C. v. WELLINGTON. "By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, February 18. The cricket match was resumed at 11.50 a.m., having been delayed by showers which fell in the morning. The attendance was limited. Two wickets fell in quick succession, with the total only 24. Then Laws and Cobcroft made a valuable stand, the former especially playing aggressive cricket on a wicket which was not of the best, and when the luncheon adjournment was ; taken the score was 72g(Laws?.S, Cobcroft 22). On resuming the score was carried to 94, when Laws was badly run out. The retiring batsman had played the best cricket of his side, and his score included five fours. The fourth and fifth wickets fell in quick succession. The sixth fell at 116 and seventh at 138. Richardson, the local skipper, and S. Hickson then became associated,'and the total was carried to IG3 before the former, who had played a cautious innings, was dismissed. The ninth wicket fell three runs later, but the last two men livened up the game, and 191 was on the board before Branston brought the innings to a close, the total being 10 behind that of the Englishmen. With fifty minutes to play the M.C.C. began their second innings, and lost four wickets for 17, when Burns and ' Harrison became associated and they began scoring freely until just on the call of time, when Harrison was clean bowled, and the game ended in a draw.
