PLAGUE IN SYDNEY. Received Last Night, 9.56 o'clock. SYDNEY February 18. Four fresh cases of plague, all in the previously infected area, have occurred in the city. Three of the cases occurred in one house. THE VANCOUVER SERVICE. Received February 18, 8.56 a.m. BRISBANE, February 18. The Premier, Mr Kidson, declares that he has no objection to the Canadian liners now carrying on the Vancouver service being diverted to New Zealand, but in that case Queensland's subsidy to the service must stop.
POSEIDON NUGGETS. Received February 18, 7.23 p.m. MELBOURNE, February 18. Another big nugget, weighing 1460z, has- been obtained at the Poseidon rush.
THE VENTURA. Received This Morning, 1.4 o'clock. SYDNEY, February 18. There is no sign of the Ventura yet. HOME RULE. Received February 18, 9.54 a.m. SYDNEY, February 18. Cardinal Moran states that as a result of the visit of the Irish envoys £22,000 was raised in Australasia.
