CHRISTCHURCH SUPREME COURT.
By Telegraph- -•Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, February 13. At the Supreme Court, to-day, Wm. Knight was sentenced to 18 'months' imprisonment on a charge of breaking and entering, and the theft of jewellery to the value of <£6o. George White, a tramway conductor, was arraigned on a charge of perjury. The charge was based on the evidence given by accused when an information was laid against him in an affiliation case, at the Magistrate's Court, Christchurch, on December 11th. The jury failed to agree, and a second trial was fixed for Monday.
