EXHIBITION BAND CONTEST.
By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, February 13. The result of the "Own Choice" band selection was declared at 1.44 :a.m., to-day. The possible aggregate is 160 points. The following is the award: —Kaikorai, Mornington, Wellington Garrison, Wanganui Garrison, each 158; Auckland Garrison, Waihi Federal, 157; Invercargill Municipal, Newcastle, 156; Palmerston North, Oamaru' Garrison, Dunedin Citizens, 155; Derry's (Christchurch), Taranaki Garrison, Dunedin Navals, 154; Woolston, 153; Nelson Garrison, 148; Masterton, Jupp's (Welling'ton), Hastings, Timaru Garrison, 146;T'uapeka, 145; Denniston, Auckland First Battalion, 144; Greymouth, Ruahine (Woodville), Inver cargill Garrison, 143; Napier Garrison, 139; Gisborne, 138; Timaru Marine, 130. The following are the results of the band competitions to-day:—Euphon-iums: W. J. Stains, Granity, 96 points, 1; W. Hickman, Wanganui Garrison, 94 points, and R. J.
