EXHIBITION BAND CONTEST.
By Telegraph —Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, February 12. The Exhibition Band Contest was continued this morning, when a start was made in the "own choice" selection competition. Twenty-nine bands entered, and were drawn to play, in the following order:—l . Tuapeka, 2 Masterton Municipal, 3 Denniston, 4 Invercargill Municipal, 5 Napier Garrison, 6 Nelson Garrison, 7 Palmerston North, 8 Woolston, 9 Oamaru Garrison, 10 Kaikorai, 11 Jupp's (Wellington), 12 Auckland First Battalion, 13 Auckland Garrison, 14 Derry's Private (Christchurch), 15 Gisborne City, 16 Greymouth Battalion, 17 Timaru Garrison, 18 Ruahine Battalion, 19 Timaru Marine, 20 Hastings Town, 21 Invercargill Garrison, 22 Newcastle City, 23 Dunedin Citizens, 24 Mornington 25 Taranaki Garrison, 26 Wellington Garrison, 27 Waihi Federal, 28 Dunedin Navals, 29 Wanganui Garrison. Play continued throughout the day and evening.
