THE PUPIL TEACHER SYSTEM.

At the Inspectors' Conference, tonight, a report frpm the committee, which considered the pupil teacher system was received and adopted. , This recommended the gradual abolition of the present system tp the establishment of a system for the education and training of teachers which shall include instruction at a secondary or District High school; a period of probation of two years, during which practice in teaching shall be carried on concurrently with study; a course at a training college, and a period of probation as a respond sible teacher.
