THE ELECTIONS.

Owing to the extreme hostility be-, tween the Gentre and National Liberal parties *in Bavaria, principally as regards confessional, the Centre instructed its followers to vote for the Social Democrats in the second ballots in 'order to defeat the National Liberals. Thereupon the Archbishops of Bamberg and Munich vigaroalsy opposed these tactics owing to the avowed -attitude <of the Socialists ■on religious and monarchical questions. Received BERLIN, February 6. Raenapf, a Radical candidate in the first division at Berlin, polled .'8,053 votes, and -Aron, a Socialist, 4,618. Aaron, on the second ballot in 1903, polled «,233. A Socialist defeated a National Liberal candidates at Strasburg. A National Liberal ousted a Socialist at Dresden ■old town. She Socialists lost Frank-iort-on-Main 'to Radicals. The Centre supported the latter. A •great procession was held in Berlin at midnight similar to that held on January 25th. Prince von Bulow delivered a speech acclaiming the reawakened German spirit, and expressing jfull confidence in the future. .He called for .three cheers for German patriotism and loyalty. There was tremendous enthusiasm. The Socialists, yesterday, lost fifteen seats and gained four. They have lost alto- ■ ; gether thirteen out of twenty seats in Saxony. The National Liberals, yesterday, gained eleven and lost four .seats. ■ '\ .
