Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows on their Pahiatua sale, held yesterday:—We had a full yarding of sheep, over 5,000 coming forward, which met a somewhat irregular sale, business at auction being in many cases animated, and prices realised being in excess of vendors' anticipations. On the' other hand, especially at the commencement of the sale, biddingwas inclined to drag when buyers proposed to hold off. However, on the whole, a satisfactory sale resulted, a large clearance" being made at satisfactory prices. Good forward wethers, sound-mouth breeding 1 ewes, and well-grown lambs in forward condition were in demand. A fair yarding of cattle over the bulk of which changed 1 hands, but no improvement in prices can be reported.
