CANTERBURY v. M.C.C. EASY WIN FOR THE VISITORS. ' By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, February 5. The match between Canterbury and the M.C C. team was concluded at Lancaster Park, to-day, when the Englishmen won by 237 runs. The weather was fine and calm and the wicket was good, and the outfield fast. Branston, who was 15 not out, on the previous evening, his innings, and was accompanied to the wickets by Curwen. Branston had made 46 before he was caught by Boxshall off Bennett. At half-past twelve the score was 260, and the innings was declared closed with nine wickets down. The Canterbury fielding was not as good as it might have been, the picking up and returning being faulty at times. Canterbury, requiring 345 runs to win, • commenced their second innings at 12.50 p.m. The innings lasted for two hours and ten minutes, and produced a Jscore of 108, Patrick 32 and Bennett 23 (not out) being the only two to make anything like a stand.
