MASTERTON RACING CLUB.
MEETING OF STEWARDS. The monthly meeting of the Stewards of the Masterton Racing Club was held, on Saturday afternoon, there being present—Messrs C. F. Vallance (chairman), J. lorns, J. Macara, C. H. Smith, J. Cress, A. J. Welch, A. G. Pilmer, D. Caselberg, D. McLachlan, W. Cooper, W. Piatt, and C. A. Pownall. A letter was received from the Secretary of the New Zeaknd Racing Conference asking the club to appoint delegates to the Conference, which will be held on May 17th. Messrs 0. C. Cooper and Bidwill were appointed delegates to represent the club, and the Secretary was instructed to notify the Pahiatua Racing Club of the appointments. Messrs Vallance and Macara were appointed a finance committee, in conjunction with the Secretary, to pass accounts. It was decided to retain the gates for the Autumn Meeting and to instruct Mr J. R. Nicol to sell the other privileges in connection with the meeting. It was resolved to allow persons to join the club as members for the Autumn Meeting at a fee of half-a-guinea. Final arrangements in connection with the meeting-room in the Exchange Buildings were held over until the next meeting. <«V:p™ .-■< •- It was decided that the Ground Committee should meet on Saturday morning next on the course to make final arrangements for the Autumn Meeting. Two new members were nominated. Accounts amounting to £39 13s lid were passed for payment.
