The amount put through the totalisator was £5,546 against £7,460 for the corresponding day last year. The total deficiency on the meeting, as compared with that of last year, was £3,000. Round the back stretch the two leaders maintained their advantage while Montigo ran up into third place. Naptha was first into the .straight, with Royal Blue and Makikihi close" up.
