PAHIATUA RACES. By Telegraph—Press Association. PAHIATUA, January 31. ' Splendid weather prevailed for the second day of the Pahiatua Racing Club's summer meeting, and the attendance was again large. The amount put through the totalisator was £5,546 against £7,460 for the corresponding day last year. The total deficiency on the meeting, as compared with that of last year, was £3,000. Knox's Royal Blue, 8.10 (Watson) ... 3 Scratched: Aboriginal. Passing the stand Naptha was out by herself, three lengths in front of Royal Blue, who was a couple of lengths in front of the field. Round the back stretch the two leaders maintained their advantage while Montigo ran up into third place. Naptha was first into the .straight, with Royal Blue and Makikihi close" up. At the disance Makikihi drew out, and won comfortably by a length, Royal Blue three lengths away third. Montigo was fourth. Time, lmin 56sec. Dividends, £5 15s and £2 Is.
