LAWN TENNIS.
WAIRARAPA CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. The Wairarapa Championship Meeting was opened on the Masterton Club's courts, yesterday, in fine weather. There was a large number of spectators, and considerable interest was taken in the games. Good progress was made in the respective events, over sixty matches being completed during the course of the day, leaving less than forty matches to bring the meeting to a conclusion. Mr N. D. Bunting, the secretary, had all the arrangements complete for the meeting, and much of the success of it i was due to him. He was ably assisted by an energetic committee consisting of Dean McKenna (president), Messrs C. C. Cox, S. R. Gawith and W. D. Croft.
