AMATEUR ATHLETIC SPORTS.
The Wairarapa Amateur Athletic Club will hold their annual sports i meeting on the Park Oval to-day. The first event will be run at one o'clock. The track is in good order, and as some of .the best runners in the province are competing some good times should be registered. The competitors include H>. Henderson, Wellington, provincial champion > sprinter, B. Goodbehere, J. Bradbury, one mile and half-mile champion runner of the Wellington province, P. Ross, P. A. McColl, M. Brunette, J. Harman, A. E. G. Evison and F. Boyle. The Club intend to keep the centre of the Oval clear, and will only allow those on the ground who are actually taking part in an event, and the officials concerned. Refreshments will be obtainable at the tea kiosk, which will be in charge of the Misses Whitcombe. . The results of the various events will be announced by means of a megaphone. All the arrangements are complete, and the Club has left no stone unturned to ensure a successful meeting. A large number of the visiting competitors arrived in Masterton last evening.
