LORD KITCHENER.
Received January 21, 8.52 a.m. ' CALCUTTA, January 20. . Lord Kitchener, Commander-in-Chief of the Forces in India, had a narrow escape while superintending the military manoeuvres at Poona. His horse put one of its hind legs in a hole, and rolled down a steep 14ft bank. Lord Kitchener was severely shaken, but remounted'and continued his inspection.
