GLADSTONE.

(From Our Own Correspondent). GLADSTONE, Saturday. The poles for the erection of the telephone to Mr J. Strang's homestead have been laid, and the work of erecting them will be put in hand almost immediately. The county road grader is now at work forming a portion of the road near the Bank View homestead. Metalling has been started on the same section of the road by the Government Co-operative men, and the road when finished will be a boon to the back settlers. The recent rains have proved very beneficial to the grass and rape crops. The change in the grass in so short a time is most noticeable, and in some places it is to be seen quite green.
