AMATEUR, ATHLETIC SPORTS.
The second annual sports meeting of the Wairarapa Amateur -Athletic,. Club, which willtafce place on the Park Oval, jtormorrow, promises to be a decided success. All the arrangements are now complete, and the ground being in splendid order some fast times should be recorded. Some of the best athletes in the colony will compete at the sports. The committee intend to keep the centre, of the Oval clear of all except those actually engaged in the event' taking place, thus ensuring the spectators an uninterrupted view. This rule was strictly enforced last year, and was much appreciated; by the public. Afternoon tea or : raspberries and cream may.be had for 6d in the new tea kiosk, and fruit and cordials will also be obtainable on the ground. Taken altogether the sports should provide an ideal way of spending Anniversary Day, and given fine weather there should be a record attendance.
