The Hon. R. McNab has furnished the Christchurch Press with the following information in regard to .Crown lands:— AREAS-AND RENTALS OF CROWN LANDS. Table showing areas and annual rentals of Crown lands in each land district held under pastoral-run, small-grazing ' run, miscellaheous, agricultural, and mining districts land occupation leases, at 31st March 1906: —Auckland land district, total area held 338,890 acres; annual rental, £3,467; Hawke's Bay, 413,958, .£1,598; Taranaki 17,785, £563; Wellington 282,877, £6,208; Nelson 331,479, £1,963; Marlborough,fl, 161120, £7,774; Westland, 875,893/ £1,549; Canterbury, 3,681,775 £42,800; Otago, 5,023,071; £41,576; Southland 1,694,895 ; £5,518 ; Canterbury - Cheviot £49,043, £7,420; totals 13,580,786, £123,436. Approximate area of land not leased, 3,243,759 acres; grand total of Crown lands, 16,824,545 acres. APPLICATIONS FOR SINGLE SECTIONS. The following are some recent cases ■of single sections largely applied for: — . Hawke's Bay District: Section 1, block 16, Mangatoro, 1,100 acres, number of applications received 441; section 2, block 2, Uratawa East, .880 acres 293; Mangatoro Block (eleven sections offered), 825. Marlborough District: Benmore, smal' grazing run, 5,000 acres, 251; Napoleon Spur run, 20,00 acres, 275.
