MASTERTON HOSPITAL.

MEETING OF TRUSTEES. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Hospital Trustees, yesterday morning, was attended by Messrs A. W. Hogg (chairman), W. Fisher, W. Harris, F. W. H. Kummer, M. J.' H. Jackson, J. C. Ewington and J. B. Keith. The.Treasurer reported as follows: —Receipts, £l7l 16s; disbursements, i £154 17s 3d; balance at last meeting £399 0s lOd; balance at date, £415 19s 7d. Accounts amounting to £295 12sld were passed for payment. The matron reported that there were 17 patients in the Hospital at last meeting, 14 had since been admitted and 14 discharged, leaving 17 patients still in the institution. The Secretary reported that at the meeting of voluntary contributors Messrs A. W. Hogg, M.H.R. and J« A. Renall had been re-elected Trustees. A letter was received from the Secretary, of the recently-formed Ambulance Corps stating the amount of money that had been received towards the purchase of an ambulance waggon. The Corps asked the Trustees to appoint a committee to meet a committee from the Corps to make arrangements for the control of the waggon. The -subscriptions received would be handed to the Trustees to enable the Government subsidy to be obtained, and the ambulance could be vested in the Trustees. Dr. Hosking, the Chairman, and Messrs Ewington, Keith and Harris were appointed a committee to meet a committee from the Ambulance Corps in reference to the matter. It was also decided to refer the question of installing gas for cooking purposes at the new hospital to the same committee with power to act. The Secretary was instructed to write to the Traffic Manager of Railways asking for an explanation in connection with the delay in forwarding • ice for the Masterton Hospital from Wellington on a recent date. Mr Hogg was elected visiting member for the month.
