* By Telegraph—Press Association. WAIHI, January 16. Road and railway between Waihi' and Paeroa are blocked by landslips. No mails from outside were received here yesterday. Residents of Paeroa get about in boats. During the past 14 days the rainfall at Waihi has been 24 inches. AUCKLAND, January 16. Reports from Paeroa state that the WaihOu River is the highest for 20 years. Communication is stopped on the main roads, owing to damaged bridges; and railway traffic in both directions is stopped. Piako Bridge, near Morrinsville, is twisted. It is expected that it will take three weeks to effect repairs.
