ROYAL COMIC OPERA COMPANY.
Of "The Orchid," which is to be Staged in the Town Hall on Friday evening next by Mr J. C. Williamson's Royal Comic Opera Company, it is said there can be no diversity of opinion. The comedians are admirably catered for and the vocalists have many opportunities to display their respective abilities. "The Orchid" will be interpreted by a particularly strong cast, including the popular operatic comedian, Mr George Lauri, who is said to be in better form than ever. A delightful actress, Miss Clara Clifton, will make her first appearance here, as also will Miss Connie Milne, a dainty soubrette; Miss Alma Barber, the possessor of a contralto voice of wonderful range and power. The older favourites include Mr G. R. Bantock, and W. S. Percy (comedians), Mr Arthur Crane (baritone), Mr John Ralston, Mr Fred Leslie, Mr. Fred Twitchen, Misses Olive Godwin (the beautiful and popular soprano), Miss Evelyn Scott, Miss Nellie Wilson, Misa Katie Potter, and many others. Intending patrons are reminded that the box plan is now open at Miss Rive's, and in filling rapidly.
