GLADSTONE.

(From Our Own Correspondent). Monday. The hot weather of the last five weeks broke on Friday, evening, when a'light rain'set in. On Saturday a thunderstorm, accompanied by a heavy downpour of rain visited us, and forla few minutes fairly flooded the ground. The ground being hard the water ran off quickly, and was soon running in small streams all over the low-lying land. The ram was badly needed, and no doubt will freshen up pastures considerably. A party of local residents left here last week to visit the Exhibition, and see the sights of the big show. They purpose being away about two weeks.
