M.C.C. v. WEST COAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. , GREYMOUTH, January 14. The cricket match was resumed at 11 o'clock, this morning, in beautiful weather. With four wickets down for 90 runs West Coast resumed batting, but opened badly, Barlow only adding two before he was given out l.b.w. The next eight wickets fell for 46, when Lather and Mineham brought the score to 171. The next two wickets fell for 173 and 177, and the last wicket for 200. The fielding of the Englishmen was perfect. The Englishmen, requiring 81 runs to win, and having an hour and ahalf's time, sent Johnston and De Trafford to the wickets. The opening was. very bad,. Johnston being stumped after making four, and De Trafford was bowled by Knapp for five. Simpson-Hayward was caught by Neilson, and the board showed three wickets for 12 runs. Harrison was doing the scoring. Douglas, after hitting three boundaries and a single, was bowled by Lather. Branston joined Harrison, and the necessary score was made nine minutes before the call of time. The finish was most exciting, and the West Coast team fielded and bowled well.
