BRITAIN AND FRANCE.
THE REPORTED EXCHANGE OF TERRITORY. Received January 9, 8 a.m. LONDON, January 9. The Paris correspondent of the Standard has been informed that although an exchange of colonies between France and Britain has never formed the subject of negotiations, if an exchange of minor possessions would faciliate hereafter a settlement of any difficulty arising from a conflict of interests, France would be found favourably disposed; also, that the New Hebrides might provide a case of the kind.
