WAIRARAPA RACING CLUB MEETING.

Fine weather again prevailed for the second day of the Wairarapa Racing Club's summer meeting, which was concluded yesterday. There was a good attendance of the public. The sum of £7,575 was put through the totalisator, an increase of £742 on the corresponding day last year. During the meeting the sum of £16,730 was invested on the machine, an increase of £5 on the last summer meeting. Mr E. A. Laery, the Secretary, assisted by an energetic body of Stewards, carried out the arrangements for the meeting in an excellent manner. Results: — Juvenile Handicap, ofl2osovs; 5 furlongs.—332 Mahuta 9.3 (J. McCombe), 1; 125 Strathfillan 8.12, 2; 113 Simplex 8.5, 3. Also started—--116 Thera 6.10. Won all the way. Time, lmin 2 3-ssec.
