RIFLE SHOOTING.
MEETING AT TRENTHAM. The annual meeting of the Wellington Defence Rifle Club's Association was held on Monday and Tuesday, at Trentham. The Karori Match was won by Judd (Karori) with a score of 96. Rifleman Cameron (Opaki) scored 91, Rifleman McCalmont (Opaki) 90, Rifleman G. Hyde (Opaki) 87, Rifleman King (Opaki) 87. Captain Hobbs (Hutt Valley Rifle Club) won the Wairarapa Match with a score of 62. Rifleman Mawley (Opaki) made 60, Rifleman King 59, Rifleman McCalmont 55, Rifleman Cameron 55. Captain Hobbs also won the Upper Hutt Match with a score of 67. Rifleman G. Hyde scored 64, Rifleman Cameron 64, Rifleman Mawley 62, Rifleman J. McKenzie (Opaki) 62, Rifleman McKay (Opaki) 60. The Opaki Match was won by Rifleman Kitchen (Upper Hutt) with a score of 48, Rifleman Cameron made 45, Rifleman Bennett (Opaki) 44. The Teams Match resulted:— Petone, 1,235 points, 1; Karori, No. 1, 1,231 points, 2; Opaki, 1,202 joints, 3. Karori No. 2 (1,167) and Upper Hutt (1,147) also competed.
