DROWNING FATALITY.
By Telegraph—Press Association. GHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 28. This afternoon a young man named David Strachan was drowned in the Waimakariri river. He was bathing near the Mafeking Bridge, at Kaiapoi, and it is supposed that he was seized with cramp or became entangled in the weeds. The parents of the deceased resideni Dunedin. Strachan was spending his holidays with friends at Kaiapoi.
