ELTHAM, Deoeuiter 27. The Axemen's Carnival ut Elthaw was continued to day in very hot weather, which was very trying on the competitors, a number of whom faiated after competing. The attendance was about 3,0U0, and constituted a record for a second day. Results:

New Zealand Single Hand Sawing Championship.—J. Phillips 1, C. W. Casey 2, .1. Hartnett 3. Time, lmin 13sec. Visitors' Handicap—W. Gregory 1, Q. Jolley 2, J. Cameron 3, J. O'Neill 4. Thirty-five competed.
The final heat for the Axemen's Cup, of £l4O, WB9 won by Neutroski, of Midhirst, who had 42aeu handicap. Time, lmin 32 4-ssei>. Harnett, 'laihape, was seond, Weston, Victoria, third, Bunt, Dannevirke, foortb, D. Pretty, Ohellia, Bout, Gregory end Jaolssun, were the other competitors.
