The International Obesa Congress, promoted by the New Zealand Ghees Association, opened today, the competitors including representatives from all parts of New Zealand, and from Australia and South America. Tho results for today are as follows:—S. Otackenthorp (New South Wales) beat*D. Forsyth (Otago), W. S. Viner (Pertfi) beat F. Kummer (Masterton), B. Maaon (Lower Hutt) beat T. Sex. ton (Waiwern), J. Mason (Wellington) beat H. L. James (Wellington), J. Edwards (Otago) beat J. O. Grierson (Auokiand), B. Parker (Wellington) beat J. R. Cnmmings (Canterbury). The game between Claude Sainsbnry (Argentine) aDd A. Gifford (Westport) resulted in a draw.
