SPEECH BY THE ITALIAN „ FOREIGN MINISTER. EULOGY OF KING EDWARD. Received December 20, 8.30 a.m. ROME, December 19. Signor Tittoni, Minister of Foreign Affairs, reviewing the political situation in Europe, assured the Chamber that the Triple Alliance—an alliance between Germany, AustriaHungary, and Italy, formed in 1882, under the terms of which the three Powers named are bound to support one another in certain contingencies—was still the basis of Italy's policy. He said he was confident there was no possibility of. a serious conflict between Germany and Britain, whose relations had greatly improved. The Minister's eulogy of King Edward's devotion to peace elicited warm applause.
